This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!

Thanks for the welcome to DA . I came across your work when I searched the photo category for "Grand Canyon", which brought up your awesome vertical panorama shot . I've hiked and backpacked extensively through the Grand Canyon, so it's very dear to my heart and soul.
I browsed though your landscape galleries and love how you have so completely captured the essence and emotion that I feel about the southwest and western landscape.
Keep up the great work! I'll definitely keep checking your galleries for new work .
I'd like to know more about your Canyon hikes. You exhibit a knowledge of geology, place and photography. And your stitching skills are better than average. Nice panoramas.

Sorry for the late reply; I haven't logged in to dA in probably 6+ weeks.
Thank you for your comments about my GC photos . The Nankoweap pano is one of my favorites because it shows a very rarely seen perspective of the Canyon (remote and expert-level trail), the unique geologic features of that section of the Canyon, and those glorious clouds! That I managed to capture that moment on my camera (an Olympus P&S) and have it turn out as well as it did makes me happy.
For the panos I took in Feb of this year, I was limited to the less-than-ideal winter light and a cloudless day. I have others posted on my picasa gallery from that same trip. A learning experience in doing post-production editing, and thankfully, I saved all the RAW files on a disk so that as my photoshopping skills improve, I can go back and improve upon them at a later date.
I would rather be in the Canyon than anywhere else on this planet, and when I was living in northern AZ, I spent as much free time as possible hiking, trail running and backpacking. You name the trail/route and I've probably been on it. I developed a fascination with the geology of the area (Colorado Plateau) that lead me to read as much as I could find on it, and have become a bit of a geology nerd as a result. I managed to find a used copy of Beus and Morales' book on Grand Canyon geology that I read cover-to-cover that is superb.
From your dA handle, I take it you're clearly a fan of the region as well. Are you lucky enough to live in/near the area? I am currently living in coastal New England, but am returning to AZ (or possibly southwestern CO) either this fall or early winter.
What hikes/trips have you done in the Canyon? I love sharing trip reports with other hikers/backpackers.
Thank you again for your note; I'm glad that at least someone here appreciated my geology info about the pics!
Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I've been offline too long. It's late and I have to get some sleep but I wanted to thank you for your wonderful comments. Dr. Beus was one of my professors at NAU so that's telling you a bit about my age.
You wrote, "You name the trail/route and I've probably been on it." Ok, how about the Silverbelle, the Hummingbird, the old Hance, the old Grandview, and Keyhole Arch, just for starters. My hikes in the canyon were extensive and covered a 20 year period, best times of my life (so far).
I'm living far from AZ now but I hope to get back to AZ sooner rather than later.
Perhaps we can talk more. Do you know how to privately talk on DA?

You are certainly welcome Sonya! Many thanks for such a wonderful compliment too! I have not had the pleasure to hike the Grand Canyon yet, but am anxiously looking forward to doing so as I have not been to the North Rim or the South in sometime. I do enjoy shooting a good landscape, makes me want to get out more and see what else there is to capture! Looking forward to seeing what you capture there on the East coast!
